Bangalore University






Com-Vision 2011 is the inter-collegiate fest organized for 11th consecutive year by Department of Commerce, Bangalore University. This initiative of Bangalore University aims to equip the students of different colleges with Conceptual skills to theoretical classroom learning, it aims at giving practical exposure to the students from different colleges and making them active and aware of the real world.
The program was inaugurated with Formal Function, The Chief Guest of the day, was Ms.  Shoba Karalraje, Minister for Food, Electricity and Civil Supply and the other esteemed Guest were Dr V.Prabhu Dev, BU ViceChancellor and Mr.Mahendra Jain CEO- Earnst and Young.
 Ram Chandra Gowda, Chairman Commerce Department Bangalore University welcomed the gathering and wished the participants for best of participation and learning experience.
It was a 2 day fest held on 10th and 11th May 2011, the invitees were from 25 different colleges having 18 finalist Colleges each college had 14 finalist participants. There were six events conducted with various rounds during the 2 days duration.
Kristu Jayanti College, Commerce Department, had 14 participating Students taking pride to be the Overall Champions of the entire programme. The students’ of Commerce Department have once again proved to be talented and skilled with practical knowledge and expertise along with the theoretical understanding.

ASPIRATIONS 2011, a Human Resource Fest was conducted on 3rd and 4th June 2011 at MLA College, Academy of Higher Learning, 14th Cross, Malleswaram, Bangalore- 03.
Eleven of our students participated in this fest. They are : Ms. Neeraja, Ms. Roopa, Ms. Priya, Ms. Shilpa, Mr. Sridhar, Mr. Suraj, Mr. Binod, Mr. Sanjay, Mr. Alex, Mr. Saju and Mr. Cherian. This fest was a mixture of four Human Resource sessions and three Human Resource events. Our College competed with other 5 colleges of the City. On 3rd June 2011, the fest started with the inaugural session. It was addressed by Mr. Glen Brass, Director, Apt Career Services Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore. He pointed out the need for social concern for India among the youths. First Session was held on “Organizational Dynamics” by Ms. Rohini Nayak, Head- HR Health Asst. . The session concentrated on what is an Organization, it’s characteristics, it’s evolution and the role of Human Resource professionals in a dynamic organizational environment. Soon after the session there were preliminary rounds for Human Resource Quiz and Human Resource Best Manager. After the lunch session, there was an event called Role Play. Our Students, Ms. Shilpa and Mr. Binod won the first prize in this major event. This was followed by a Second Session on “Career opportunities in Business Process Outsourcing Industry” by Mrs. Wilma D’Souza, HR Department-IBM. She gave a bird’s eye view regarding the industry and also answered many queries raised by our students.
On 4th June 2011, the fest started off with the third session on “Human Resource Competencies” by Mr. Dronachari Sharma, Head- Learning and Development, SLK Software Services Pvt. Ltd., B’lore. He advised students on the importance of Human Resource and the skills required for the same.  Soon after the session, there was Group Discussion for Human Resource Best Managers.  This was followed by the fourth session on “Goal Setting” by Mr. Glen Brass, Director, Apt Career Services Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore. He spoke on the Self awareness aspect and gave guidance to the students on how to choose a career in their life, rather than choosing just a job.   After the lunch session, the Final round for Human Resource Quiz was conducted. Our students Mr. Suraj and Mr. Sanjay won the second prize in a very competitive and tense event.   At last there was the much awaited Human Resource Best Manager Finals Round (Stress Interview). Our student, Ms. Neeraja was the one and only winner in this Event.  The Valedictory session was conducted. There were cultural activities too. The session concluded with the Prize Distribution.
Special thanks to the Management, The Head of the Department Mr. Vijay Kumar, Mr. Babu and Mr. Mohammed Umair for motivating and supporting the participants of this Fest.  Kudos to all the winners and participants of ASPIRATIONS 2011. They made our College proud once again.
